Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT)

Location: IHS outpatient facility - Fort Hall, ID 83203

Pay Rate: $45 per hour + Travel stipend (if applicable): $1,267 per week
Please keep in mind that payroll is processed on a biweekly basis.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, excluding federal holidays

Contract Length: 1 year base with 1 option year (anticipated start 2027)

Benefits: 10 days PTO, accrued sick days, paid holidays, Health & Welfare $5.42/hr (prorated based on hours worked)

Status: Position contingent upon contract award

• Federal contract in bidding process open for locals and travelers

Job Description:
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) to support the laboratory at an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Fort Hall, ID. This position performs routine laboratory testing and specimen handling in an outpatient setting.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent education
• Current ASCP Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification or equivalent
• Experience with specimen collection, specimen processing, quality control, and routine laboratory testing
• Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English
• Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements
• Experience in outpatient or ambulatory laboratory settings preferred
• Experience with IHS RPMS and EHR systems preferred

Responsibilities:

• Collect and process patient specimens
• Perform routine laboratory testing
• Perform quality control procedures and document results
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Follow laboratory safety and infection-prevention procedures
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, IHS, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements
